About Being an Artist
Transcript: Every artist starts off unknown and unpaid. You must really be passionate about art to peruse a career, because when you start off you don’t make a lot (if any) money. Taking courses in business can be very helpful for finding opportunities to show your art and share your work. Also, a degree in fine arts is recommended, but not necessary, along with a job with flexible hours so there is lots of time to spend in the studio. You earn anywhere from nothing to twenty thousand a year for beginner artists. A full established artist, working on their art and only art, can make twenty to sixty-five thousand a year. Goal About Being an Artist An artist lives life to create. Anyone with a passion for art can become an artist if they really want it, but it’s not easy! Most artists (like painters, graphic designers, sculptors, etc.) are self employed. You spend lots of time alone and if you have a part time job or other education, you work whenever you get the chance to. Their job is to show emotion and creativity using anything to make any type of art that they connect with. They often paint, draw and sketch, create 3D pieces of art using wood, metal, clay and plastic and create with computers, light and sound. All artists see and think differently, which makes each piece of art unique and every opinion very valuable. Phase 3 Education and Earnings Artist
