This 12-month, international scholarship provides full payment of tuition fees for the duration of the course and a flight home on satisfactory completion of the course. Transcript: Earning over $36,000 in one year of free money How To Be Debt-Free When You Graduate Attention to Detail !!! Add Every Scholarship to your Excel Spreadsheet Read every application carefully. Sometimes they ask you to do some pretty ridiculous things, do them and do them right the first time. When writing a business letter use the correct format and try to find out who to address it to. Having everything correct and concise helps you stand out in good light, too many mistakes will do the opposite Type instead of hand writing if you can Always try to send unofficial transcripts when possible to save money and if you have to snail mail anything do it way in advance. This Presentation contains what I have learned while on a journey of: As you apply to scholarships save each tailored essay and resume with the year and application name This way you can always refer back to what was submitted and be able to keep a clear record of what is working and what isn't. Also this makes it simple to reapply next year Resume Tips and Tricks about the scholarship process Ask early to give plenty of time Follow-up, professors forget things too Provide your resume, with extracurriculars and GPA Ask professors whom you have had a good relationship with, even if they were from high school Start thinking ahead of who you will ask next to consistently build a support network Save electronic versions to always have plenty of options on hand and choose the best fit one Learn About the Organization Create an immaculate Resume The Career Center has a good template you can use Try to get extra circular activities outside of the class room on it , such as research projects Your resume should reflect your passions, ambition, and drive Have others that know you proof read it After at least two people have proof read it, take it to Career Services and have them fix remaining kinks Scholarships you only half qualify for Start Google-ing and Never stop Things are always changing and being updated Check your local county Look for anything that makes you different Use different search engines The farther you dig the better your chances Sign-up on scholarship search sites, My Favorites are; Fastwebs.com Cappex.com Scholarships.com Let the Search Begin Save Everything Try enlisting the help of another Applying to over 50 different scholarships Has anyone offered to help you? Sometimes family members are unable to help financially but can offer their time Never be afraid to ask for help This will be very time consuming They can scan scholarships you may qualify for so your free time is used more effectively General Essay Getting Started The best way I have kept track of scholarships and specifics pertaining to them is with an excel spreadsheet Create a spreadsheet with columns including scholarship name, dead line, website, requirements, what things you have accomplished thus far, what needs to be done still Recommendation Letters Get Organized What you need to do before you begin your search for external scholarships Treat this like a part time job I have received scholarships from; The American Helicopter Society Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers National Business Aviation Association Women in Aviation Buick Achievers Always contact to organization with questions, sometimes they didn't know they were looking for you. Apply, Apply, Apply even if it seems like a long shot, I PROMISE you will get surprised Sell Yourself - One of the MOST Important steps Highlight things about yourself that is targeted at the scholarship and will change for each one Think about what they are looking for and why they are giving this money away Make sure your essay and other parts of your application come straight out and say why you are the best fit. Don't let them infer or try to search for why you are the best candidate. Keep on top of your spreadsheet and always try to look at least a month ahead Be sure to reconfirm upcoming due dates, organizations tend to sometimes change things year-to-year Gleam in All Your Hard Work Since it Payed-Off Most scholarship applications ask for a similar essay to be submitted with the application Topics usually include; what have you accomplished, what do you want to accomplish, and how will this scholarship benefit you. Write a general essay of these topics Use the writing lab as a resource Have others proof read it Be ready to tailor your essay to each specific application This essay is how the people awarding te scholarships will get to know you the best, use it to you advantage. Avoid typos Being Awarded on average 1 in 4 scholarships I apply to If you stick out the hard work, you will be getting paid more than a minimum wage job on campus Block off time in your schedule specifically to work on scholarship applications and stick to it Its a numbers game, the more you apply to, the more likely you are to get awarded one. Set a goal of how many applications you would like to apply to each month and write it

Transcript: In 2011, the GPC Foundation awarded over $180,000 in scholarships. Scholarships are established with private donor funds. Donors determine the criteria, which is why it varies from scholarship to scholarship. Scholarships are based on need, merit, and/or service. There are three application deadlines: March 1st, July 1st, and October 1st. Scholarships can alleviate the financial burden associated with attending college. Scholarships are a great alternative to student loans. Scholarships can raise your profile with future colleges and employers The application period will open 30 days prior to the approaching deadline, at which time the current application and list of scholarship opportunities will post on the Foundation website http://www.gpc/Foundation/scholarships.htm You may also visit the the GPC homepage and enter "Foundation Scholarships" into the search box. Transcript: NBPS Dance Attended the Meritas Dance festival in New York City Student Government I performed and gave my farewell speech at DMA Florida 2013 to pass down my tile as Teen Miss Dance of Florida 2012 and also competed and won in the senior Duo/Trio category Scholarship presentation Assisted dance and acrobatic classes (20 hours) Competed at ADA regional and state dance compeitions (placed second overall) Latin Dance What I plan for my future Circus Arts cared for abandoned animals for an animal rescue service (A Better Life Rescue) through the summer (310 hours) Competed in the women's solo category at the World Salsa Summit and the Junior's solo division at the World Latin Dance Cup where I placed 2nd Reached out to Commit 2b Fit and NVEEE and started an organization to bring awareness to childhood obesity called dance from the heart for the heart and started an NB club (40 hours to be signed off) Competed in the dance segment on Sabado Gigante and won the $3,000 first prize. Dance Masters of America Performed in the community at the panther's game and lighthouse point parade Extra curricular activities Trained and choreographed with brother for salsa events.
