Transcript: My phone is something I cannot live without and the dog collar is to show how important my dog is in my life. I cannot life without my phone and my dog. I feel like in our society we all are somewhat addicted to our phone and I admit that it is something that I need with me at all times. Truman only knew what he was being taught and he never questioned anything because he was satisfied, but once he was no longer satisfied with what he was being feed to believe, he started to push himself and he broke the chains in order for him to find out the real truth. While Truman discovers that he wanted to be set free, the prisoners become narrow minded and informs the freed prisoner not to know more than he suppose to. Overall, I learned a lot amount about myself and where most of our morals come from today. I learned that I am somewhat of a stoic and that morals should matter more in our daily lives and routine. Happiness is the one thing that drives everyone to do what they do in life. Moral Machine Results Celina Pou Entry 1:Book of the Dead The cross represents my world/religious views in Jesus. Ever since I was little I was raised to believe in Jesus and live my life going to church and having faith. In my Moral Machine results, it showed that I was likely to kill the people that did not abide by the law and I think that reflects a little bit of stoicism in the fact that if I had to pick someone to die, it would be the people that went when they weren't supposed to because they are at fault. Introduction I believe I agree with stoicism the most out of the greek schools of thought. Stoics presented their philosophy as a way of life, and they thought that the best indication of an individual's philosophy was not what a person said but how that person behaved. To live a good life, one had to understand the rules of the natural order since they taught that everything was rooted in nature. For Aristotle, happiness is a final goal that encompasses the totality of one's life not just a couple happy moments you have experienced in your lifetime. I agree with Aristotle in the fact that happiness should be the most important thing to strive for in life because without happiness our life has no meaning or value. He sees happiness as the ultimate value of your life as lived up to this moment, measuring how well you have lived up to your full potential as a human being and if you are happy with who you are. Being happy is something we should think about daily because it is one of the most important things to strive for. Entry 2: Truman Show & Plato's Allegory of the Cave The ring in the case symbolizes how important I think marriage is according to immortality. Entry 4:Schools of Thought Journal Happiness with Aristotle Conclusion My journal contains information on how my life and views relate to the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, Aristotle's view on happiness, Plato's Theory of Forms, and the Greek schools of thought. I learned a lot about myself in studying and entering these journal entries because it forces you to think further into about who you are as a person in relation to ancient history.
