New year's Eve Usually in one or two months before the new years day, Chinese would clean their house to represent a brand new start and sweep old things out from this year and shopping in the stores to prepare for the dinner in New Year's Eve. After the complicated and busy preparation for the final day, people can finally enjoy it. People would put out traditional Chinese new year artworks such as cutouts, paintings and couplets. ( Mainly red ) Then, people would eat the food that they have been preparing for weeks and every family member or, and relatives would come to enjoy, which this dinner is called the reunion dinner. Elders would give out "HongBao". with some lucky idioms in Chinese like “GongXiFaCai"... Some rich family can watch CCTV New year show on TV. All of families are staying up late the whole night. ( Modern time) Eventually, they will hear the New Year's bell.
