Transcript: Steps of Construction Overview Cabin The four parts are made separately The holes are cut out by forscener bits The four parts are nailed and glues togeather Boiler The boiler is shaped with a jack plane It is glued and nailed to the base Wheels The wheels are cut using a wheel cutter in the drill press They are attached to the base using screws Machine safety Disk Sander Safety Glasses Hold wood firmly Large pieces of wood only Tie hair back if long Wear an apron Drill Press Wear saftey glasses No loose hair or clothing Wear an apron Woodwork Hand Tools Tenon Saw The tenon saw is used for straight cuts in small pieces of wood. You have to make sure that hands are not near the cutting edge, and that wood is clamped securely when cutting. Steel Ruler The steel ruler is used for marking out and measuring. It also has a straight edge for checking if wood is straight. The ruler sharp edges can be dangerous and the ruler needs to e used carefully. Hitting it against anything can e damage its straight edge. Try Square The try square is set to 90 degrees. This is to ensure that the whole job is “square” and that all pieces fit together properly. If the try squares are dropped or hit against anything they will no longer be 90 degrees and are costly to replace Jack Plane The jack plane slices wood away, thin amounts at a time. The blade is razor sharp and hands need to be kept away fro the blade. There is also the chance of pinching fingers with the jack plane, although the main risk is being cut by the blade. Hammer The hammer is for hitting in nails. The main injury is pinching fingers when hit by the hammer. The head of the hammer is heavy and care must be taken when using it.

In the late 1960s, when he began working for Brissonneau-et-Lotz, Jacques Cooper was asked to draw “a train that did not look like a train.” He designed the interior and exterior lines of the TGV 001 turbotrain, creating the "TGV style" very quickly.the difference between the forward trains of now is mainly the speed of the passengers.
