I like how it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I also like how everything is good in the end. Addie and her mom (Mommers) are stuck living in a trailer in New York. At the corner there is a store and that’s where Addie meets her friends Soula and Elliot. Mommers got a job and meet a new friend so now she is always gone. Addie got a hamster named Piccolo. Dewight is her step father and he is trying to get Addie to live with him. Addie set the trailer on fire and from there all things went downhill. At the end of the book Addie finally went to live with Dewight, Hannah and the littles. Pete and Mommers live with each other waiting for the arrival of their new baby. The high turning point is when the trailer burns. This is because after that Mommers gets taken to jail. Soula passed away, and of course their house got burned down. Antagonist 1. Plunked To throw, push, drop, put, etc. Text to TEXT connection: This book is like The Book Thief because Addie and Liesel are both living in small homes and poor conditions. 3. Wriggled To twist and turn with quick writhing movements. Zesty Words Theme The main setting of the book is in their trailer. This took place in 2008. It is in Schenectady, New York. She leaves Addie alone for two to three weeks. Also she never leaves money so Addie has to scrape food together. Protagonist The problem is solved when Mommers comes to see Addie. Mommers and Pete have a baby to take care of. Addie is signed over to Dewight and everything is at peace. Falling Action Thumbs down The moral is no matter how bad things get just hope and it will get better. Setting Addie is the main character. Her personality is someone who can go with the flow and try to make a bad situation work. Others think of her as a nerd except for her friend Helena. She has to face many challenges but her friends and family are there for her. Or 4. They don’t live in a good house because Mommers could not pay the mortgage. She always is out late and doesn't come home for long periods of time, and when she does there are a million excuses. Transcript: Plot Slide 2 Waiting For Normal Images the author uses to speak to readers are ones that the characters have built up in their heads to give the reader a sense of excitement. "I thought trailers were always in trailer parks. I expected a little grass patch out front, daisy-shaped pinwheels stuck into the ground , one of those white shorty fences and a garden home" (Pg 1 Connor). Setting Notes The setting of my story sets the mood by putting a negative affect over it. "The thing was dingy and faded...It was plunked down on a few stacks of cinder blocks at the corner of Freeman's Bridge Road..." (Pg 5 Connor). Exposition- Addie's stepfather is dropping off Addie's mom and her at a trailer due to the divorce. Inciting Incident- Addie meets Soula and Elliot at the mini-mart. Rising Action- Addie finds out about Dwight's new wife to be. Climax- Addie started a fire in the trailer and the state removed her from there. Falling Action- Soula dies due to cancer but Elliot gives Addie a letter that said Soula's last goodbye. Resolution-Addie got to live with Dwight and be with Bryanna,Katie, and Hannah. The central problem of the story is that Addie got seperated from her family, which is very challenging for her because her mom isnt very supportive. "They're Dwight's kids, I'm not . (like I said our family is full of twists and turns. Characters: Protagonist and Antagonist Setting Slide 2 The people/ circumstances that keep the main character from achieving her goals is her mother. "What? I stopped working to look at her. "Does your momma have some troubles? I didn't answer. "Maybe something with her moods? ...Does she get real happy then real sad" (Pg 100 Connor). The people that are most important in Addie's life is her sisters and her step-dad who she really wants to be with. "I told you I tried to get custody. My Heart pumped... He tried to get custody of me" (Connor pg 131)! Plot

Summary In my book there is a little girl that is 12, her family has been through two divorces and is living in a trailer. She has 2 step sisters and a step dad. Her mom tells her that she is going to get a step brother and she is very mad. Along the way she meets some new friends at the mini-mart across from her trailer. Then one of them dies suddenly of cancer. I won't tell you any more so that you can read it yourself. The climax: Her friend Soula dies of cancer but she leaves Addie something to remember her by. The solution: instead of living with her mom she goes to live with her step dad I would definitely recommend this book to a friend because it is interesting and exciting.
