Transcript: Your child will receive an agenda book. Make sure you write how your child goes home everyday. Dismissal runs so much more smoothly when you write how they go home. This is also a form of communication between parents and teachers. It would be a good idea to write your child's name in things such as: coats, backpacks, and lunch boxes. We are very active in Kindergarten. We recommend that your child wear tennis shoes or other shoes that are securely attached to their feet to promote a safer environment. Important pages in the Agenda If your child buys lunch: -they go through the lunch line - they must have money on their lunch account Lunch Numbers Day cares will be loaded by a teacher. make sure your child knows the name of the daycare. Kids club will be walked to the cafeteria at dismissal. Prepare your child for sharing and taking turns with others. Agenda Books Read: Reading with your child is very important. When you read ask your child questions like: What do you see in this picture? What is going on in this story? Who is the story about? Specials Classes Arrival Parent contract and internet access pages must be sign and returned to your child's teacher. The dress code is in the front of the agenda book as well as code of conduct/ behavior and attendance rules. You might want to fill out the first page of the agenda book with your child's name, school, etc. in case it is lost. Numbers: Practice counting to 100 with your child. Also practice recognizing numbers 0-20. Dismissal- Bus Dismissal- Cars Bus riders will be walked to the bus by a teacher. A teacher will walk the children to their buses. However, it is a good idea to teach your child his/her bus number and the bus drivers name. Your child needs to recognize letters when they are shown to them on flashcards and out of sequence. You will also need this number if you get your child early from school. Meet Our Teachers Tables at Lunch Car riders will load on the side of the school close to the large playground and basket ball court. Kindergarten parents should be in the lane closest to the school. Kindergarten students will sit under the covered end of the side walk. Your child will report to the gym if he/she arrives before 7:05. The children sit in the bleachers and are dismissed by grade level to their classes. Boys sit on one side and girls on the other. Kindergarten is on the first row. Make sure you arrive by 7:15 everyday. Talk about what events and things you are doing with your child. This will help increase your child's vocabulary.
