There are three different theories: Studies have shown: teens abuse prescription drugs because they think that taking one more pill will make them better but what they don't know is that it makes them addicted. Teens smoke marijuana about 20 times per month. People that smoke regularly often do other drugs Over 50% of teens who smoke marijuana regularly claim they have used illicit drugs such as cocaine or Ecstasy Don't be another statistic. Decide to be different. Choose to make your life matter. Younger people are expecting positive consequences from alcohol use Expectations the advertisements are designed to encourage A drug that is available only with written instructions from a doctor or dentist to a pharmacist FACT: The aim of a corporation is to use positive advertising to recruit and maintain consumers. If ads didn't lead to consumption then businesses wouldn't use them Since it is "approved" by doctors it is "safer" than street drugs What are the "not-so-obvious" messages?
