Victoria Equal Opportunity Act 1995 This Act outlines discrimination on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy, status as a carer, race, religious or political belief and industrial activity as unlawful conduct and covers the areas of employment, education and professional organisations. Proposed action Bullying & Harassment Workplace diversity is a people issue, focused on initiatives that encourage a culture of non-discrimination and respect for all equally. Diversity creates environments that are open to learning from others and workplaces can benefit from the advantages those different perspectives and influences can bring. These differences may include race, religion, gender and age group. Performance Review Systematically and periodically, all team members will have the opportunity for individual performance reviews. This will provide the scope for management and employees to discuss and develop the work related interests and skills of each team member and enhance their job satisfaction and contribution to the organization. It will also provide a forum for team members to candidly air any concerns or grievances they may experience as part of their work undertaking. Training All internal and external training opportunities will be based on individual professional development and the requirements of the organization. All decisions relating to training, career advancement, personal and professional development will be merit based and meet organizational needs. At Venus Day Spa, it is an important part of our culture to identify and promote the individual characteristics and skills of each employee to enhance our business. Regardless of our contrasts of age, cultural heritage, appearance or level of experience, we aim to achieve optimal productivity and harmony, taking into consideration all of our strengths and differences. We are committed ensuring that all employees of Venus Day Spa are treated with respect. The benefits of this policy will promote a balanced and positive workplace, where there is maximum co-operation between team members. This contributes to the morale and job satisfaction of all employees and the financial success of the organization. This policy is applicable to all employees of the organisation and encompasses the specific diversity issues of equal employment opportunity, relating to age and cultural background and harassment The Law Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986 The grounds of discrimination in employment under this Act include race, colour, sex, religion, political view, ethnic origin, age, criminal and medical record, marital status, disability, sexual orientation and trade union affiliation.
