Transcript: Game of Thrones was filmed in various countries like Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, Spain and Northern Ireland. The Main location was and is Northern Ireland. In my researches everything was pretty much pointing at Northern Ireland as well. The locations are easy to access and close to each other. So the action shooting would take place in Northern Ireland as well. There are also the most beautiful and interesting locations for shooting. The following locations are on my list for shooting in Northern Ireland: - The Dark Hedges (King's Road) - Foley's Bridge in Tollymore Forrest - The Giant's Causeway - Downhill Castle - Rope Bridg Another location right at the ocean on high cliffs. It's an old castle, but still in good shape that gives many opportunities for tricks I want to tell a story about a BMX-rider riding the Game of Thrones locations with a very close look the the Game of Thrones look. I think the best way to get a great story, would be to get a selection of very, very strong action-scenery-photos (maybe 10 images) and a selection of travel, behind the scenes and lifestyle photos. This gives magazines various opportunities for layouts and stories. It can be just a gallery spread or a whole story with a lot of information how it came all together. In that way the output of the story can be maximized. One more thing: The location and the action pictures will have a very strong connection to the game of thrones look, but the rider will not wear any costume or stuff like that. That would just be over the top and look silly in my eyes. So there won‘t be any knights, dragons or a princess - sorry for that. STORY TEAM This bridge is located in Tollymore Forrest, one of the main film locations. The bridge looks like a natural kicker in a medieval surrounding DOWNHILL CASTLE Lorenz Holder is a well known name in the action sport photography scene. He is originally based in snowboarding, but has reached out for other sports in the past as well. Lorenz works for the snowboard company Nitro as senior stuff photographer and worked 5 years for Pleasure snowboard magazine as senior photographer and for magazines all over the world. In the last couple of years he won various photo awards worldwide, like the Red Bull Illume, The Open, Olympus Showdown IDEA FOLEYS BRIDGE This is more a scenic location for mood shots, because the rider will be pretty limited on tricks here. But it‘s close by, so it can be easily be done Homebase: The Pyjama Factory / Bushmills (http://www.giantscausewayselfcatering.com) From here we can reach every spot within 20 min. (except Foleyʼs Bridge). Driving distances: Ireland is rather small so we wonʼt have longer drives between the spots. Here are some examples: Homebase -> The Dark Hedges: 20 min. Homebase -> Giantʼs Causeway: 5 min. Airport -> Foleyʼs Bridge: 1h. 40 min. Foleyʼs Bridge -> Homebase: 2 h. Homebase -> Airport: 2h. 40 min. This location is right on the ocean and it's asically made out of hexagonal basalt structures that creates a playground for action sports. It can be shot at sunset or whenever the light gets dramatic THE DARK HEDGES LOCATIONS WHY BMX ACTION SPORTS? LOCATIONS Senad is a very talented BMX-rider that has strong skills in every environment. He can ride jumps, transitions and he is also very good in flatland and non-speedtricks. The perfect guy for this mission. Game of Thrones roughly follows the storyline set out in A Song of Ice and Fire. Set in the fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the series chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among the realm's noble families for control of the Iron Throne. Game of Thrones is seen in more than 100 countries and it has more than 18.5 Mio. viewers worldwide. It is one of the most successful tv-series of all time in the target group of people from 18 to 49 years old. So far, there are 5 seasons made and the next season is waiting to be screened for the huge fanbase in April 2016. While watching the series, I was blown away by the great locations and surroundings the whole plot was filmed at. Those locations got stuck in my head and I developed the idea of bringing those locations together with action sports. Great locations are the key element of my photography philosophy. Transcript: Presentation Storytelling Julian Navarro Inspiration/Refrence waiting the turn by krugerlive GAS STATION AT NIGHT BY JULIA CHRISTE Story / Reasoning When taking these photos, what I'm taking into consideration is the time and place I decided to take these photos. Early in the morning I feel would be the representation of the emotions and mood I'm trying to convey to the audience. Which would be solitude and loneliness in the way that someone observing from the driver seat they'd be able to appreciate the scenery for the calm and empty. The reason I feel that late night cruising is relaxing is maybe because the production of melatonin in the pituitary after the sun sets or it might be the only time people have to themselves, either on the way to and from work. It can also provide an outlet to express emotion by choosing different genre music. Although me personally I like light night because there's less traffic, its not as hot outside, and easy on the eyes. More importantly the setting its less busy; almost empty at times. Unlike rush hour, I don't have to worry about heavy traffic at night I can simply drive home and enjoy the view while listening to relaxing music. I like listening to the theme of Taxi Diver sometimes, which also shares the same ambience which most of the film at place at night. I feel though while driving I can plan out the day ahead or reflect on decisions I need to make. Transcript: Practical Ideas Staging & Technical Story-telling techniques Instead of staging the entire house / room, we could just use a bed to represent the grandmother's bedroom, and a doorway. We could use a spotlight on Little Red Riding Hood during her journey through the forest. We could create a tree canopy that is suspended above little red riding hood. We could make it using scraps of fabric, tissue paper and branches. If we hung it low enough it could also create a frightening sense of claustrophobia and immerse the audience into the performance. We could use shadow puppets to show the wolf eating the grandmother We could use a mask and gloves / a puppet to show the wolf We could also take inspiration from pantomimes by breaking the fourth wall and speaking to the children directly. For example Little Red Riding Hood could ask the audience if they think her grandmother seems 'strange' and the actor could naively pretend like she is to create more suspense and keep them engaged. We could also use sound and music in certain parts such as when she is travelling through the forest, we could get the children to sing along as if they are making the journey with her to add atmosphere. Marionette puppets could show her other encounters in the forest such as bears or monsters to promote a very eerie and frightening atmosphere. Target Audience Research Little Red Riding Hood includes a range of dark themes, such as the death of the grandmother, the evil and deceptive yet cunning wolf, Little Red Riding Hood’s frightening journey through the forest, and her near death at the end. The protagonist would be of a similar age to the children, so the children would enjoy that the main character is similar to them and relatable. It contains the excitement that the children commented on enjoying with the battle of the wolf and the little girl, as well as one of their favourite tropes being a main character (the wolf). Furthermore, they would recognise the well known fairytale and enjoy a creative new adaptation of it. BTEC Performing Arts Verity James Little Red Riding Hood Why I chose this story We learnt from the Year 3 students that they like a lot of darker/scarier themes. We learnt that they especially enjoy Harry Potter, themes of death, themes of nature, ect. We also learnt that they enjoy children of similar ages to them as the protagonist in stories. They also said that they prefer stories that include adventures, and that they like wolves (much more than dragons, for example). Therefore I thought that Little Red Riding Hood would be an easily adaptable story that we could present that has very similar themes to the likes of the children. We could apply a particular focus on the aspects that will appeal to them most e.g. we can prioritise her journey through the forest (potentially using a song / live music), and the characterisation / exaggeration of the wolf. Synopsis One day, a young girl’s mother asks her to go and visit her grandmother, who lives in the next village. She meets a talking wolf while travelling through the woods, who asks her where she’s going. The girl tells him that she’s going to visit her grandmother, and tells him she lives in the first house in the village. The grandmother, who is in bed unwell, tells the wolf, believing him to be Little Red Riding Hood, to come in. The wolf does so, and immediately devours her. When Little Red Riding Hood eventually arrives, the wolf pretends to be the girl’s grandmother. After she enters the house, she is surprised by her grandmother’s big arms (‘all the better for embracing you, my child!’ her ‘grandmother’ replies), her deep voice, and her big teeth (‘all the better to eat you with!’). He proceeds to eat Little Red Riding Hood.

Transcript: Storytelling presentation Lydia Evans Books The Help About the book About the book Written by Kathryn Stockett in 2019 About African Americans working in white households in Jackson, Mississippi, during the early 1960s. what it means to me what it means to me The main character, Skeeter, is what got me wanting to go into journalism. Her bravery and desire to not be "the norm" inspired me more than I had/still have ever been. After reading this book, I knew I wanted to make a career out of making a difference, I just didn't know how. Movies The mummy what it means to me what it means to me I grew up watching it (I know-obviously I'll be weird idolizing this movie as a kid) This movie is what got me interested in learning more about Ancient Egypt. In my opinion, it's the best kind of movie-fiction with sprinkles of fun facts. My desire to know more about Ancient Egypt eventually led to me aspiring to be a writer. tv series immortal Egypt what it means to me what it means to me This show helped me dive deeper into learning more about Egypt. In a weird way, it inspired me to continue on the path that I was on with writing. This show took me from wanting to write fiction and screen plays to wanting to explore and write and learn more about history. ghost story holidays About the story About the story (I feel like this one needs to be described) This movie/story goes through all the holidays (hence the name) like Easter, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc. But it's all themed horror stories-like the Easter bunny steals little kids, a girl cuts out a bully's heart because her swim coach's heart is failing (yeah, I know-gruesome to most). what it means to me what it means to me I love this story because of the creativity. It's truly storytelling at its finest. Taking things that most people think about in passing, or plan the season out for, and putting a completely new twist on it. Whenever I have writer's block, or any type of creative block, I watch this movie. But not because it's my "go-to" or relaxes me, but reminds me that there is always a story to go along with something. It is one of the most meaningful (to me) campaigns I have ever seen. This inspired me not only personally, but professionally as well, by stirring up a desire to go out and change the world, starting with myself. (If you don't, leave. I don't need that kind of negativity in my life.) This was the first princess movie that I actually liked (even as a kid). Being a kid with confidence issues, and my head always in a book, this movie showed me that it isn't about looks, but about what's on the inside. (Wish it would have more of an impact like that on me lol) local lore local lore the local lore legend This is a story that all the kids on my bus used to talk about. Right down the road from where I lived, there was this old abandoned house. The "local lore" (or more of what was really more of kids being kids) was that an old lady lived there. She found out her husband was cheating on her, killed him, then killed herself; no one found them for weeks. "She still haunts the house to this day." To this day, I still don't know the actual story behind the house. I'm doubtful that the gossip is true, but who knows. This is the first story-telling "conspiracy" that I was a part of. Transcript: My Target Audience Research How I intend of presenting my story is having a set of images that are taken throughout the day of the activities that I normally do in chronological order. Photograph by Andrea Di Gioia They are all going to be in first person. I plan on having atleast one hand in the image and shoot with my other hand (like image above). Influence Photobiography The theme for my project is "A Day in the Life of Me". All my images are going to be shot in first person. Storytelling Presentation Presenting my story The photographers that I've researched is Timur Zhansultanov, Andrea Di Gioia and Murad Osmann. They have all done a first person shoot project. The photographer that has influenced me the most is Timur Z. because his work is based more on everyday activities. My influence is RICHARD VANTIELCKE. He's a French freestyle photographer He did a project in third person which inspired me to do first person. My age group of my audience is diverse. There isn't a specific range I'm targeting because the type of place that my images would be well suited is in story books or traveling brochures/websites.
