Transcript: I am a radiologist for health insurance I have HRA and I have Yellow Fever A radiologist is a physician who has specialized training in obtaining and interpreting medical images, which makes him or her an imaging expert. These images are obtained by using x-rays (radiographs, CT, fluoroscopy), or radioactive substances (nuclear medicine), others by means of sound waves (ultrasound) or the body's natural magnetism (MRI). Yellow fever is caused by a small virus that is spread by the bite of mosquitoes. This disease is common in South America and in sub-Saharan Africa. Anyone can get yellow fever, but the elderly have a higher risk of severe infection. If a person is bitten by an infected mosquito, symptoms usually develop 3 - 6 days later. Yellow fever has three stages: 1.Early stage: Headache, muscle and joint aches, fever, flushing, loss of appetite, vomiting, and jaundice are common. After approximately 3 - 4 days, often symptoms go away briefly (remission). 2.Period of remission: After 3 - 4 days, fever and other symptoms go away. Most people will recover at this stage, but others may move onto the third, most dangerous stage (intoxication stage) within 24 hours. 3.Period of intoxication: Multi-organ dysfunction occurs. This may include heart, liver, and kidney failure, bleeding disorders, hemorrhage, and brain dysfunction including delirium, seizures, coma, shock, and death. this is what i would need to live...... •Intravenous (IV) fluids •Medications to control seizures, nausea, or vomiting •Blood replacement •Breathing support from a ventilator •Prevention of secondary infections (pneumonia, urinary tract, etc.) •Good nursing care. Symptoms Arrhythmias, heart dysfunction Bleeding (may progress to hemorrhage) Coma Decreased urination Delirium Fever Headache Jaundice Muscle aches (myalgia) Red eyes, face, tongue Seizures Vomiting Vomiting blood . Advantages to employees • Employers contribute to the HRA - giving employees yet another benefit. • Reimbursements are not considered taxable income for employees. • Reimbursements help employees minimize their out-of-pocket expenses. • Wise use of HRA dollars can limit employees’ cost exposure. In fact, it’s possible an employee could have no out-of-pocket expenses at all. • While combining an HRA with an HDHP can lower insurance costs for the employer, it can lower the amount employee’s pay for coverage, too. 2 3 5 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002341/ http://www.velozinsurance.com/files/18270/Health%20Reimbursement%20Arrangements~001.pdf By: Taylor Morey http://health.nytimes.com/health/guides/disease/yellow-fever/overview.html http://www.radiologyinfo.org/en/careers/index.cfm?pg=diagcareer#part_one 2 4 5 4 3 http://virus.emedtv.com/yellow-fever/yellow-fever-cure.html 1 3 1 There is currently no treatment that can kill the yellow fever virus. Therefore, yellow fever treatment is focused on providing relief of these symptoms as the body fights the virus.
