Walt Disney wasn't very good at managing his money.He went bankrupt a couple times before he learned how to manage it. Cinderella became the first hit movie since Snow White and helped to shrink the companies debt in the 1950s to $1,700,000. Walt Disney was a victim of child abuse until he was 14 years old. Many of his movies portray child abuse. Disney's products and ideas gave people more things they wanted to spend money on; which helped boost the economy. Walt Disney cared deeply about the quality of our shared future and how it would come from understanding the secret sauce of innovation. In his words, “There’s really no secret about our approach. For 90 years, their outstanding storytelling has enchanted, inspired, amd thrilled audiences everywhere. It is the largest media conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by Walt and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, and today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company. When Walt Disney began in 1927 the economy was good. The unemployment rates was 4.5% and the labor force growth was up from the previous year at 1.5%. People on average were making more than the previous years. Approximately 40% of households had telephones & 25% of homes had radios. The U.S. balance trade on goods and services was 1.1 billion dollars.
