Transcript: Classification: Harjot Sohi Essential question Why is it important to place living things into categories? 1 Classification helps one to properly grasp diversity. It helps both to recognize living species and to understand the diversity of living organisms. Classification allows one to understand about the various forms, traits, similarities and distinctions in plants and animals. It helps one to understand the evolution of complex species from simpler organisms. They are classified under various definitions in order to explain and analyze the traits, similarities and disparities between different living species. Classification is a method that lets one cope with a vast range of ways of life. The inter-relationships between various classes of species must be known. For the advancement of other biological sciences, classification forms the basis. Click to edit text 2 A taxonomy chart's value: An significant illustration used in biology is a taxonomy map. Scientists use this diagram to describe species. This sorting approach helps to classify, precisely, the certain animal the scientist is researching. Culicidae The Yellow Jackets Kingdom: V. Dolichovespula Species Part C: Summary Questions 6 1) Describe the physical traits your animals had in common with one another in your taxonomy chart. Break down your descriptions by taxa. (Example: All animals in the class Reptilia breathe air, lay shelled eggs, and have skin covered in scales.) 2) Explain the positions of each species in your cladogram. Why did you place each of your animals in those positions? The physical features the animal had in the community of birds were that they could all fly. For all the animals, the physical features that the animals had in the insect community were all prey. Using the taxonomy map, there are many aspects that we could compare since it was created to research the organism in great depth, and what they have in common, characteristics wise. 1 The way I did, I put the animal in the cladogram, so it allows the individual reading the diagram to comprehend the evolutionary parallels relative to all species. Even the variations between them reflect these positions. This provides us with a greater view of the species under analysis. 2 Got all information off Wikipedia The end!
