Transcript: 24 of the most unusual country flags North America North America When you first think of NM, you probably think of America and Canada. But, the Caribbean is where the flags get interesting. St. Vincent and the Grenadines St. Vincent This flag, also known as the Gems, is a very beautiful flag and has a way deeper meaning than you would expect. The blue represents the sky and the sea, the gold represents warmth, and the green represents agriculture. The three diamonds are in the shape of a V for Vincent. This has been the official flag of St. Vincent since 1985 Barbados The broken Trident in the middle represents the independence from England in 1966 when it became a republic. The three spikes represent the three principles of democracy, government for, of, and by the people. It also represents the sea God, Poseidon. The Blue on the sides is believed to represent the sea surrounding the island and the gold represents the sand circling the island. This has been the official flag since 1966 Barbados St. Lucia St. Lucia This flag is very appealing and has a very deep meaning. The black and white triangles represent the races of black and white people getting together on the island. The yellow represents prosperity and sunshine. The two triangles represent two volcanic cones on St. Lucia. The blue represents the Caribbean sea and Atlantic ocean surrounding the island. This became the official flag in 1967 LATAM LATAM In my opinion, LATAM has the best flags out of all the continents. These flags are both weird and beautiful at the same time Suriname The Suriname flag is very visually appealing and has a good meaning behind it. The red represents progress, the white represents freedom and justice, and the green represents fertile land. The star in the middle represents unity and a golden future. This has been the official flag of Suriname since 1975 Suriname Paraguay This has the classic red white and blue color scheme. The red represents equality, courage, and patriotism, the white represents unity, purity, and peace, and the blue represents freedom, charity, and righteousness. The symbol represents the independence in 1811. This has been the official flag since 2013. Paraguay Bolivia The Bolivian flag is very beautiful flag and I love the meaning behind it. The red represents Bolivia's soldiers, the yellow represents the nations field with minerals in them, and the green represents the fertility of the land. The symbol in the middle is the Bolivian coat of arms. This has been the official flag of Bolivia since 1851. Bolivia Europe Europe With 44 countries, Europe is one of the most diverse continents. This makes for very special flags that look beautiful. Liechtenstein The Liechtenstein flag is very symbol but a deep background. the blue on top represents the sky and the red on the bottom represents people having evening fires in their home. The Crown in the top left corner represents unity for the people and their Prince. This has been the official flag since 1982. Liechtenstein Belarus Although there is no historical meaning for the flag or Belarus, there was an explanation by current president, Alexander Lukashenko. The red represents freedom and the sacrifice of the nation's founding fathers and the green represents life. There is no clear definition for the design on the side This has been the official flag since 1951. Belarus Serbia The Serbian flag follows the classic red, white, and blue color scheme but still has a special meaning. The red represents violence in fight for freedom, the blue represents the sky, and the white represents light. The symbol is the serbian coat of arms. In each corner of the coat of arms with a letter C. The letters were though to mean "Only unity will save the Serb." This has been the official flag since 2006. Serbia Africa Africa Africa has the most countries with 54 which makes for very unique countries and flags. Most show the same color scheme of yellow, green and red, but these are all different. Uganda The Ugandan flag is very unique Uganda and does a very good job of representing the country. The Black represents the native people, the yellow represents the sun, and the red represents the bond of blood the connects all of the African people. This has been the official flag since 1962 Uganda Eswatini The Eswatini flag is my favorite flag and I love the meaning behind it. The blue represents peace and stability, the red stands for past battles, and the yellow represents the resources in Eswatini. The symbol in the middle is a Nguni shield and two spears. This represents how the country is always protected. This has been the official flag since 1968 Eswatini Seychelles The Seychelles flag is a very beautiful flag and each color means something. The blue represents the sky and the sea, the gold represents the sun, the red represents the people and their work for unity and love, the white represents social justice and harmony, and the green represents the land and environment.
