Prezi Canvas If a book is essential for a module and lots of people need it, your lecturer may ask that we put it in Key Texts - this means it's only available for four hours at a time to ensure everyone gets a turn. You can book your 4hr slot via YorSearch. The whole area is dedicated to silent study or down http://informationdirectorate.blogspot.co.uk/ http://www.slideshare.net/UniofYorkLibrary On the 1st floor there's flexible study space for group work. There's more than just books, though. The key things here are 1) check so you know when someone else has requested a book you have, and 2) if all copies of an item you want are out on loan, use the request button to ensure you get your turn! More on requesting here: More on how to copy / scan: On the ground floor of the Fairhurst you'll find the Music Library, the Audio-visual Collection, and a 55 seat PC Classroom. The rest of the building is all about study space. Staff and students can borrow 50 items at a time. We operate a Flexible Loans policy where you won't get fined unless someone else requests the book - there's more info here: From any PC, off campus or on, you can access online materials for your subject via http://subjectguides.york.ac.uk/ The 2nd floor has a huge variety of study space, Thin Client PCs, iMacs, and the Research Study and Lounge.
