Water Cycle Powerpoint
Transcript: The Water Cycle By: Miss. Kwiatek and Miss. Strouse What is the water cycle? The Water Cycle An ongoing cycle of how the world's water moves between lakes, rivers, oceans, the atmosphere and the land. A continuous system, it can be a liquid (water), a gas (vapor) or a solid (ice). The Water Cycle Transpiration Transpiration The process that occurs when plant leaves release water vapor (a gas) into the air. Transpiration Evaporation Evaporation The process that occurs when the surface of liquid water heats and changes into water vapor (a gas). Evaporation Condensation Condensation The process that occurs when water vapor (a gas) cools and changes back into liquid droplets. Condensation Precipitation Precipitation The process that occurs when water is released from the clouds and falls to the ground in the form of rain, snow, sleet, or hail. Precipitation Accumulation Accumulation The process of water collecting in rivers, lakes, streams, oceans, and other bodies of water. Accumulation
