Transcript: Alba Angulo 1 BACH A Pureza de Maria Bilbao Differences between PowerPoint, PREZI and impress COST ¿HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT? Powerpoint: pricing starts at $126.89 as a one-time payment, per user. There is not a free version of PowerPoint. PowerPoint does offer a free trial. Prezi: It is free, but you can also get the Prezi Enjoy license, which costs $59 per year with 500 MB of storage. For $159, Prezi Pro offers 2000 MB with the option to work offline. Impress: It is free. EASY OR DIFFICULT ¿Is it easy to use it? Powerpoint: More difficult, with different tools, designs and multimedia. It has a large and wide set of designs with transitions. Impress: It has a comprehensive range of easy-to-use drawing and diagramming tools to add style and sophistication to your presentation. wifi ¿do i need wifi or internet connection to use it? Powerpoint: You should be able to regularly open and use Office 2013/2016 applications like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel without internet connection. Animation ¿Can i animate pictures, texts or slides? Powerpoint: You can animate the text, pictures, shapes, tables, SmartArt graphics, and other objects in your PowerPoint presentation. Effects can make an object appear, disappear, or move. They can change an object's size or color. There's also a related video about animating text. Prezi: Prezi Classic has an animation feature that allows you to fade content into your prezi. This feature allows each animated element to fade in as you move through the path of your prezi. Impress: The Animation dialog is the most basic way of creating an animation in Impress. It lacks the built-in animation effects of Custom Animation, but it is easier to use for simple animations. Drawing ¿can i draw in this programme? Powerpoint: It includes a basic set of tools for drawing shapes and lines onto a slide. To utilize free-hand pen and drawing tools, click the “Review” tab, then click “Start Inking” Prezi: It has different pens to allow drawing. Prezi v. Powerpoint, Keynote, and Impress

Transcript: There is not a one stop shop for presentation software. With that said, I believe Prezi is a great and fun way of creating and presenting presentations. The vibe of Prezi compared to others is certainly different. Personally, I would not pay money for Microsoft Office (which includes PowerPoint), but instead opt for the free options. A bonus is that MHCC offers Microsoft Office for free! Prezi v. PowerPoint, Keynote, and Impress Apple Keynote has spectacular animations, templates, and a simple to use interface. It is capable of importing, editing, and saving PowerPoint files. Although Apple Keynote only comes with Mac and iOS devices, with the power of the cloud, it is easily accessible across all devices (including Windows). This is a great offline solution to Prezi. OpenOffice Impress OpenOffice Impress is basically a copycat of PowerPoint. It has all of the features that PowerPoint offers, minus some templates. For free, there are not really any cons. The same cons that were said for PowerPoint can be said to Impress also. This is a great offline software solution, as it is free. From what one would expect, free does not come with anything fancy. When one stumbles across the word PowerPoint, an instant connection is made on what it is. This is mainly why it is so popular and widely used. When compared to Prezi, it looks dull and boring. Because of this, many people hate the idea of presentations being relied heavily on PowerPoint. There are many animations and templates, but it does not fare well when compared to Prezi. PowerPoints can be opened on any software. Microsoft PowerPoint Prezi Prezi incorporates what you call "fun" animations, templates, and user interface. This attracts a wide audience and retains the attention of many, whereas normal presentation software, most people would get bored of it. Since it is on the cloud, it can be accessed anywhere. In addition to that, collaboration is easy. However, one must pull out a credit card as a form of payment in order to gain more features, such as a control of privacy. Apple Keynote

Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.

Prezi vs Powerpoint

Transcript: Prezi vs Powerpoint Ayat 8 Red The main difference between Prezi and PowerPoint is that Prezi is a cloud-based tool for creating non-linear presentations while PowerPoint is an offline tool for creating standard presentations PowerPoint, as most people probably know, comes as part of the Microsoft Office Package. Many times computers come with a free trial version of Microsoft Office’s Services, so many times people may think it’s free. It is definitely not! Microsoft Office has two main purchase options. One is the one-time purchase, that includes only the basics (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and it’s $119. The other is a yearly subscription, which costs $79, but includes much more. Microsoft Office also has three “Business” plans, from $5 per month to $12.50 per month. Is Prezi free? What about PowerPoint? Privacy Settings This is the main problem I have found with Prezi’s basic plan. When creating your presentation, it will be automatically available on the Prezi website. This means that absolutely anyone who enters Prezi’s presentation database will be able to find it. Prezi has frames while powerpoint has slides. Slides and frames Templates can be really useful, especially if you need to do a presentation quickly, or several presentations, and you have not much time to spend on them. The most templates options, the more chances that there is going to be one that fits your specific needs. In this point also, PowerPoint has a clear advantage over Prezi. Prezi Templates vs PowerPoint Templates As most people might know, PowerPoint presentations work with a procession of slides. This means you have to plan your presentation with a certain order. You’ll probably have a title slide, an introduction slide, and so on, and so on. Presenting in PowerPoint implies a certain order. After your first topic, you’ll move directly to point 2 and keep moving forward. So if you have topics that relate directly to each other, PowerPoint is great for you. Its linear presentations will allow you to showcase cause-consequence relationships and analysis. Prezi and PowerPoints Pros and Cons: Design Features On matters of offline access, PowerPoint and Prezi are complete opposites. PowerPoint is a software created to work completely offline. Prezi, on the contrary, is an online tool. Both these accessibility features have pros and cons. To have access to PowerPoint, any person you try to share it with should also have the program installed to be able to view it. But in the case of Prezi, there is little you can do if for some reason or the other you find yourself without an internet connection. The positive part of each is, obviously, that most people you’ll share your presentations with will probably have both PowerPoint and access to the web. Can PowerPoint or Prezi be edited online? Prezi, on the other hand, offers only an online monthly subscription. It has different plans, depending on the features each one offers, so think carefully which might work better for you. The good thing about Prezi is that it has a basic subscription that is absolutely free. Other plans start from $5 a month, up to $59 a month for Premium access. Is Prezi free? What about PowerPoint? powerPoint, on the other hand, has thousands (and I mean THOUSANDS) of templates ready to be used. Microsoft Office offers a great amount of them, both on the program itself as in its web. But besides all those, you can find even more templates, of every style, color, and price online. Here at 24Slides, you can find hundreds of some of the best PowerPoint Templates you can download for free. Prezi Templates vs PowerPoint Templates Prezi and PowerPoints Pros and Cons: Design Features Prezi doesn’t have slides, but rather, it works with an open canvas. With Prezi, you are able to zoom in and out through different topics. Zooming in you’ll be able to go into more and more details of a specific topic, while zooming out will help your audience see the bigger picture and how are different elements of your presentation connected. Prezi is great for presentation where you have to go with the flow and be able to jump from one topic to another. In a way, Prezi is more like a conversation.

Now you can make any subject more engaging and memorable
