Waves Powerpoint

Transcript: When waves approach the coast and enter shallow water they are refracted and their energy is concentrated on headlands and dispersed in embayments. A sound wave is a kind of wave that can be detected by the human ear. So as we've seen, energy is constantly being transferred through waves. Main objectives Whether it be in ocean waves; from wind through water to rock, or sound waves, from vibration through air and to space. What are ocean waves? What are sound waves? How do ean waves start and stop? How do sound waves start and stop? How is energy transfered regarding waves? The start Ocean waves wouldn't necessarily stop, but the energy their are carrying is put into other things such as the beach. Sound waves come from vibrations. Sound waves move through mediums such as air and water. Ocean Waves Ocean waves generally start from storm and or wind force This makes them start and stop differently ocean waves are the only visible scientific waves The Start This gives them a strong energy push, sometimes, stronger than others. Sound waves technically never stop until they reach space The sound waves get weaker and weaker the farther they go, until the human ear can't hear the noise it makes anymore In conclusion, we discovered that energy's constantly be shifted and moved, and waves are just one carrier of energy. We discovered that our planet is buzzing with energy constantly, more so than we could have ever imagined. Reflection Game show Time!! Transferring Energy Do waves start and stop? PowerPoint Game Templates

Transcript: Example of a Jeopardy Template By: Laken Feeser and Rachel Chapman When creating without a template... http://www.edtechnetwork.com/powerpoint.html https://www.thebalance.com/free-family-feud-powerpoint-templates-1358184 Example of a Deal or No Deal Template PowerPoint Game Templates There are free templates for games such as jeopardy, wheel of fortune, and cash cab that can be downloaded online. However, some templates may cost more money depending on the complexity of the game. Classroom Games that Make Test Review and Memorization Fun! (n.d.). Retrieved February 17, 2017, from http://people.uncw.edu/ertzbergerj/msgames.htm Fisher, S. (n.d.). Customize a PowerPoint Game for Your Class with These Free Templates. Retrieved February 17, 2017, from https://www.thebalance.com/free-powerpoint-games-for-teachers-1358169 1. Users will begin with a lot of slides all with the same basic graphic design. 2. The, decide and create a series of questions that are to be asked during the game. 3. By hyper linking certain answers to different slides, the game jumps from slide to slide while playing the game. 4. This kind of setup is normally seen as a simple quiz show game. Example of a Wheel of Fortune Template https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Wheel-of-Riches-PowerPoint-Template-Plays-Just-Like-Wheel-of-Fortune-383606 Games can be made in order to make a fun and easy way to learn. Popular game templates include: Family Feud Millionaire Jeopardy and other quiz shows. http://www.free-power-point-templates.com/deal-powerpoint-template/ Quick video on template "Millionaire" PowerPoint Games Some games are easier to make compared to others If users are unsure whether or not downloading certain templates is safe, you can actually make your own game by just simply using PowerPoint. add logo here References Example of a Family Feud Template PowerPoint Games are a great way to introduce new concepts and ideas You can create a fun, competitive atmosphere with the use of different templates You can change and rearrange information to correlate with the topic or idea being discussed. Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.

Radio Waves

Transcript: Radio Waves What are Radio Waves? All electromagnetic waves travel at 300,000 kilometers per second, which is the speed of light. How do they Affect Our Lives? They are used in our Radios Iphones TVs Wireless Interent Medical Devices Most communication Short Waves carry higher levels of radation Examples X-Rays which can cause cancer They should be used in small amounts and are dangerious if not used correctly Today we rely on Radio Waves to do things from heating our food communicating with others helping detect cancer The End! Thanks Beth Belanger Radio waves are used for the transmission of radio and television signals the microwaves used in radar and microwave ovens. Radio Waves travel through the use of elections which affect the electromagnetic spectum The longest waves are over 100 kilometers long; the shortest are less than a billionth of a millimeter long. (cc) photo by Metro Centric on Flickr Short Waves are more excited -stronger less area to travel more concentration doodles All Wavelenghts are able to travel through the Air and through light notes Budapest San Francisco Good and Bad! Microwaves used in radar and microwave ovens are also radio waves. The electromagnetic spectrum is the complete range of radiation sent out by electrons. It is given off in tiny packages of energy called photons, which can be either particles or waves Food For Thought: If radio waves have radation and should be used in small amounts what affects do cell phones have?! If you are not careful tho Radio Waves Can Cause Cancer and have lasting affects Additionally many medical devices emit radio waves. How do they affect US? outlook Besides in our social lives Radio Waves Are very dangerious if not used carefully photo frame example- ultriviolet rays Place your own picture behind this frame! RADIO WAVES

Transcript: Radio waves are in the increasing part of of the electromagnetic spectrum ranging from 10mm-100m. It has the highest frequency of the spectrum. Radio waves have the longest wavelenghts in the elctromagnetic spectrum. No all radiation is not harmful there are actually "good" forms of radiation such as x-rays and UV rays. *Microwave *Sound *Video * Television Electromagnetic Placing: Characteristics: Key Facts: Who uses the electromagnetic spectrum at work? *http://science.hq.nasa.gov/kids/imagers/ems/xrays.html *http://www.tvlane.edu/-sanelson/eens211/xray.htm *http://hyperphysics.phy.astr.gsv.edu/hbase/ems3.html *http://science.hq.nasa.gov/kids/imagers/ems/xrays.html *http://www.tvlane.edu/-sanelson/eens211/xray.htm *http://hyperphysics.phy.astr.gsv.edu/hbase/ems3.html * Yes all of our sources agreed on the wavelength ranges. *peolple in different fields have different definitions for the range of wavelengths for each region of the spectrum depending on their field of work Electromagnetic Spectrum Project - Radio Waves By: Anique Brown, Jemea Woods, and Jacob Abshire The Earth's Atmosphere Sources: The Earth's atmosphere protects living organisms because it lets in some UV rays and keeps some out. When Scientist talk about Electromagnetic Radiation they are describing radio Waves, Microwaves, and Visible Light. Used in our everyday life: * James Clerk Maxwell a Scottish physicist predicted the existence of radio waves in the mid-1800s. *Karl Jansky discovered naturally occurring radio waves coming from cosmic sources in the1930s. *The Milk Way was a strong source of radio emission was the birth of radio astronomy.
