SALARY RANGES The position of Genetic Counselor is a full time job, which will entail at least 40 hours a week. The Genetic Counselor will be administrate services to assess any risks and testing for certain birth defects or genetic disorders. The Counselor will also coordinate efforts to facilitate and promote outcomes in the best interest of the patients. The Genetic Counselor will operate mostly in a clinical setting, such as a medical office building or outpatient areas of hospitals. They will also work in association with academic and commercial laboratories. The job may also entail travel to outside clinics.
