Transcript: As an EU national, you have the right to study in another EU country. If you stay there for less than 3 months, all you will need is a valid identity card or passport. With over 14 million EU citizens resident in another Member State, free movement - the ability to live, work and study anywhere in Union - is the EU right most cherished by Europeans. If you have lived legally in another EU country for 5 years continuously - as a student - you automatically acquire the right of permanent residence there. This means that you can stay in the country as long as you want. If you are a student, you may have a chance to do part of your studies abroad or complete a trainership in a company. When you go abroad to study via Erasmus+ : - you don't have to pay registration or tuition fees to your host university - your studies abroad count as an integral part of your degree - you get an EU grant towards living and travel expenses. - Train and study everywhere in the EU under the same conditions as nationals - Work anywhere in the EU and benefit from the opportunities offer by EU-wide labor market. EU Students' Rights You can lose your right to permanent residence if you live outside the country for over 2 consecutive years. After 3 months in your new country, you may be required to register (to get a document confirming your right to stay) with the relevant authority.
