It united the people of America as they strived for a common goal of surviving the war. Moreover, World War II brought the people of America out of the Great Depression. Many factories in America, began to produce war supplies and weapons for their country's soldiers. This caused men and women's fashion to change because less supplies were used for making goods that clothes were made previous to this time. Clothing Clothing Shoulder pads became popular as it showed a disciplined military look which many young men yearned to have. Men's Fashion Men's Fashion Girdles, which were used prior to this, became less worn because rubber, the main material of girdles, were needed for the war effort. The 2-piece bathing suit was introduced because fabric production was reduced. Shorter shoe heels, flats, and open toed shoes became more common for women because they wanted comfortable footwear in their workplace. Skirts were made shorter as fabric was needed fo the war effort. The songs made many people in America of aware of the action of the war. This is because products were needed by the soldiers to ensure that they would have good health and be able to protect the country. Since many men joined the army, factories needed people to work in the factories. Because of this, women stepped up and worked in the factories in order to keep the economy going. Moreover, many women became nurses in the army. This was a big change from the previous times; before this, women took on a domestic role. Usually the ones who enlisted were looking for adventre and escape from the life they were living in and saw they war as a way out of their hardships. Propaganda, such as Uncle Sam, was used in order to convince many young men to join the army. Because of this, there was many young men in the army of America in WWII. The conflicting sides were the Allied powers and the Axis powers. Many young men joined the army to seek adventure. Moreover, they married young so they would have a personal reason to keep on fighting. The clothing industry was affected because rationing caused there to be a small quantity of the materials which was used. Rationing was done in order to ensure that supplies would be given to the soldiers and the people of America would have enough to survive. Music was affected by WWII because the music was a propaganda which helped people evision how the war was for the soldiers. Popular dances, such as the Lindy Hop, emerged and brought the nation hope. The role of women changed as the men who worked in factories joined the war effort so many women started to work and do jobs that only men were supposed to have. Conclusion Conclusion
