In the end, Louis Eppolito and Stephen Caracappa are going to be spending the rest of lives behind bars because they chose to use their NYPD badges to work with the Mafia rather than against it. The money they gained certainly must have made it seem appealing at the time, but the imprisonment along with the over four million dollar fines as part of their sentence truly prove that crime doesn't pay. Facciolo was lured to a garage and killed by Louis Daidone, Eppolito, and Caracappa because Eppolito and Caracappa reported that Facciolo was an informant.
