A strength of the JCPenney company is it’s fashionable merchandise paired with discount prices while it’s weakness lies in it’s target market, which consists of shoppers who are older than 55 and make less than $35,000 a year. The main competitors are Macy’s and Target. Both of these competitor companies share a similar target market and sell similar merchandise. Entercom, stock symbol ETC, is an American company. They are a broadcasting industry that has radio stations all over the country, including Greenville, South Carolina. Entercom buys the radio stations in order to grow within the market, now owning thousands all over the United States. Entercom is both a risky and potentially beneficial stock to buy. Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ). The company was formally known as Bell Atlantic Corporation and changed its name to Verizon Communications Inc. in June of 2000. It was founded in 1983 and is based in New York, NY. What Verizon Communications Inc. provides is communication, entertainment products and services to customers, information, business, and governmental agencies worldwide. The company was founded in 1870 and the headquarters are in Irving Texas. Exxon Mobil Corporation explores for and produces crude oil and natural gas in the United States, Canada/South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. It also manufactures and markets commodity petrochemicals, including olefins, aromatics, polyethylene and polypropylene plastics, and specialty products; and transports and sells crude oil, natural gas, and petroleum products. Verizon Century Aluminum Company, stock name CENX, is an aluminum producer. One of Century Aluminum’s major strengths is their strategic objective. They seek to strengthen aluminum assets, lower operating costs, and diversify their geographic locations.This allows the company to produce aluminum globally. One of the weaknesses is the strong competition amongst aluminum producers. AmerisourceBergen Corporation sources and distributes pharmaceutical products to healthcare providers, pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers, and specialty drug patients in the United States and internationally. General Mills’ greatest competition stems from Kellogg company, which produces many of the same products as General Mills.
